13.09.1219.4 The then Minister for State, the Honourable Kempson, was sacked after alleged financial irregularities concerning the price of beer and a secret deal struck with the Regulatory commission. A mattress or mistress, may also have been involved but due to poor record-keeping it is not known which. Kempson later committed suicide by sticking his head in a barrel of wine. Although it is also thought that he might have just been really, really thirsty. Parliament frowned upon the death as it ruined a particularly fine vintage.
